Dear Cecil Swanson families,
Welcome or welcome back to Cecil Swanson! I am so excited to see all of you this week!
We would like to invite you to our OPEN HOUSE where you can meet your child's teacher and visit the classroom on Wednesday, August 28 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. Homeroom teachers are working to contact you by telephone for a welcome call over the next couple of days. If you miss that call, don't worry, as they will send a follow up email via SchoolMessenger, or you can visit the office on Wednesday and we will help you find your classroom.
We have another Welcome Back Evening planned for Thursday, September 12 in the evening. More information will come to you in the near future about that event.
Some other quick reminders:
- For Grades 1-6, the first day of school is Thursday, August 29.
- Kindergarten please check your calendar to see your first day as there is a staggered entry for you.
- On the first day of school, please meet your teacher outside behind the school in the field. If you can't find your teacher, please look for me in the field, or ask any of the teachers and we will help you! This will be much faster for you than asking in the office. Classes will enter when we have all the students ready with their teachers.
- Morning outdoor supervision begins at 7:55am. Please arrive between 7:55 and 8:05am. Our entry bell rings in the morning at 8:05am. This is when students enter the school so that instruction can begin promptly at 8:10am.
- If you are dropping your child off, please do not park in the bus zone in front of the school, or in the staff parking lots! We don't have many busses, but it is important that the bus zone is clear so that our students with mobility considerations can get off of the bus easily and safely. There is lots of parking a bit further down the street. Thanks for keeping our students safe!
