Friendly Reminders & Updates
- Seven Sacred Teachings – The teaching for April is Wolf - Humility
- Grades 4-6 Chess Club - Our Grades 4 and Grades 5-6 chess club continues this week on Tues/Thursdays.
- Building Security - Thank you for your patience when ringing the office doorbell. Our building is secured throughout the day for safety. If we have substitute staff in the office, or if we can not see you clearly on the door camera, we will be asking the reason for your visit. We love to see our families, but it is important we are aware of who is entering our building. Thank you for your patience in these situations. Family members and adults, also please be sure you are entering through the front door only, not the other doors.
- Support Staff Appreciation Week April 20-24 - Next week is Support Staff Appreciation! HUGE thanks to the amazing work of our support staff, including our office staff, lunch supervisors, education assistants, bridges/behaviour support workers, library assistants, english language assistants, facility operators and cleaners! We know you may have the closest contact with your child's teacher, but this huge team of adults is a big part of your child's success! Thank you to all of them!
- Earth Day April 22- Classrooms will be learning about the importance of respecting nature and the earth on this day. Our students do a great job of conserving water, recycling materials, and limiting the amount of waste and garbage at our school. This day supports recognizing other ways we can care for our planet, such as keeping our schoolyard clean by using the garbage bins and not littering.
- April 24 - System Indigenous Professional Learning Day - No school for students
- School Council
- Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 21 at 6:00pm. We are in urgent need of parent volunteer support for our Spring Casino which brings us over $70,000. We are at risk of losing our Casino. Please email Mr. Whitton at kmwhitton@cbe.ab.ca if you can help as part of the committee or volunteer!
