Student Voice Club Updates

Student voice has chosen Honesty (Sabe) as our next of the Seven Sacred Teachings.
Our April Spirit Days will be:
- Tues April 22 – Earth Day – students will learn ways to Care for This Place and our earth (Na’a)
- Wed April 30 – “Backwards day” – classrooms will plan how to celebrate this ‘fun’ spirit day in different ways during their learning.

Friendly Reminders & Updates

School Council – Next meeting Tuesday, April 22 at 6:00pm – Please visit our School Council website page. We will be sharing back your feedback from the School Planning Engagement survey at this meeting.
Spring Wildlife – It’s that time of year when we are seeing lots of small animals around the schoolyard. This week, there were many cute little bunnies outside. Many students are wanting to go over and watch or try to touch the bunnies. Please help us remind students that this is not a safe thing to do for them or for the bunnies. Usually the mother rabbit is nearby, and if humans are too close, they may not return to their young. We are using this as an opportunity to learn how to care for nature, especially in connection to April 22 Earth Day. Thanks for supporting care for our local wildlife!
Welcome Back to Ms. Fallis (Gr 2) – This week we have said farewell to Ms. Riegel, who has been teaching Grade 2 on a temporary basis. We are welcoming back Ms. Fallis, who is returning from her leave to rejoin our Grade 2 team. Huge thanks to Ms. Riegel for her work at Cecil Swanson! She will be missed, and we will likely see her back as a guest substitute teacher in the spring.
