Mr. Whitton’s Weekly Update April 6-10, 2026
Friendly Reminders & Updates
- Good Friday April 3 - Reminder that there is no school Friday April 3. Happy Easter to our families that celebrate! Easter Monday is a regular school day.
- Seven Sacred Teachings – The teaching for April is Wolf - Humility
- Humility is represented by the East, the spring, and yellow, believed to be reference to the rising sun. Humility is also represented by the wolf. “Look to Wolf for humility. Observe how Wolf does not live for himself but for the pack. Watch him bow his head in the presence of others. He does this out of deference, not fright."
- Weather Reminder - Spring is on the way! Please remember that weather changes quickly, and our playground is still wet. Bringing your boots, winter clothes, and some dry socks is a good way to stay warm and comfortable if the weather changes.
- Grade 5-6 CBE Student Survey - Next week, our Grade 5 and 6 students will complete the annual CBE Student Survey during class time. This is one important way we gather student voice about how to make Cecil Swanson an even better place to teach and learn.
- School Council
- Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 21 at 6:00pm. We are in urgent need of parent volunteer support for our Spring Casino which brings us over $70,000. We are at risk of losing our Casino. Please email Mr. Whitton at kmwhitton@cbe.ab.ca if you can help as part of the committee or volunteer!
