Friendly Reminders & Updates
- Seven Sacred Teachings – The teaching for November/December is Eagle – Love.
- School Council – Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 20 at 6:00pm. Please check your SchoolMessenger for information on our Purdy’s Fundraiser – You’d only receive this if you signed up for commercial messages.
- Next Spirit Days December 17 and December 19 - Wed Dec 17 is our annual "Ugly shirt/sweater" day. Feel free to participate - this can be a holiday theme or not, so long as it is school appropriate and respectful. On Friday December 19, we'll have a short winter carol assembly in the gym. Students will be practicing the winter-themed carols in the classroom and during music class. (Sorry, Mr. Whitton is not planning to sing on the microphone because it did not go very well for him last year.) All of our classrooms enjoyed our Door Decorating spirit day on Dec 11 - we hope you were able to see our festive doors at the Winter Wellness evening!
- Winter "Blue Dot Days" Reminder - Please always dress for the weather! We are outside most days. Minus 20 degrees is a guideline for an indoor "Blue Dot Day". These are indoor recess and lunch days. We also allow students to come inside early in the morning on Blue Dot Days. Indoor supervision starts on these days at the same time as our outdoor supervision: 7:55am. Please have your student walk around to their regular entry door on Blue Dot Days. Unless you are in the Breakfast Club, please do not arrive before 7:55am because there is no outdoor/hallway supervision before 7:55am. The only students that would enter through the office front doors are students arriving late who need to check in to the office. We have reminded students that if they ever are not sure what to do before or after school, especially if they notice they are outside alone, please come to the front doors, ring the office bell, and the office will let them know whether to come inside, or to enter through their classroom doors. Staff will always check outside at bell times to be sure nobody is left outside or alone in cold weather.
- Picture Retakes – Lifetouch completed individual picture retakes last week. There was a problem with their camera equipment and they were not able to take the class photo for Ms. Fallis' class yet. We will let you know when we can reschedule a time for Ms. Fallis' class photo as soon as possible.
- 2026-27 Kindergarten Registration Opens January 12 - If your child turns 5 on or before December 31, 2026 please register online for kindergarten! More information here.
