Student Voice Club Updates
- Sacred Teaching for February/March is Truth – Turtle. Truth is having the knowledge of our cultural teachings. We know who we are in our heart. By knowing that, we know the truth.
- Spirit Day – Wednesday, February 19 – Dress Like a Book Character Day. Please follow the same guidelines as Hallowe’en – please no masks, props, be respectful, and be able to learn while wearing what you choose.

Friendly Reminders & Updates
- School Council – Next meeting Tuesday March 11 at 6:00pm in the Learning Commons. This will be our annual School Planning and Engagement presentation and survey. Please visit our School Council website page.
- Valentine’s Day Information – We dedicate our instructional time to curriculum topics, however, if students want to bring paper valentines on Wed Feb 12:
- The student would need to bring one for everyone in their classroom please
- Teachers are able to provide a list of names (first name and last initial only)
- Valentines can be given out at recess or lunch recess, not during instructional time
- Please do NOT send any food or candy. These can not be given out at school. Stickers, erasers, paper cards all fun options.
- Please talk to your teacher if you have any questions, thank you!
- Winter Weather Reminder – As a guideline, -20 with wind chill means an indoor day. Please make sure students come with winter clothing, even if you expect an indoor day. Sometimes, weather warms up a bit, and we are able to take students outside. We also need students to have warm clothing in case we ever have to evacuate the building and walk to one of our evacuation locations. This could be due to a burst pipe, heating failure, or other unexpected events. If your family is in need of winter clothing, please let our office know.
- Teacher’s Convention Feb 13 and 14 – There is no school for students on this day. This is a day when teachers are downtown for professional learning. Please note that these are not Parent-Teacher conference dates. Our next conferences are in March.
