Friendly Reminders & Updates

• Seven Sacred Teachings – The teaching for February is Sabe - Honesty 
• Professional Day Friday Feb 27 - Reminder that this is a non-instructional day, and there is no school for students. 
• Alberta Education Supports for Classroom Complexity - You may have heard through the media that Alberta Education has provided additional funding to school boards to support classroom complexity. We are awaiting further information on how this may benefit Cecil Swanson, and we will keep you updated as soon as we have any further information. 
• SoundKreations Dance Residency - Thank you to our School Council/Casino Society for funding a two-week dance residency the weeks of March 2 and March 9!
• Pink Shirt Day Wed Feb 25 - Our next Spirit Day is Pink Shirt Day! We encourage everyone to wear pink to support positive relationships and welcoming school environments!
• Ramadan/Fasting- Our staff appreciates that many members of our school community are fasting over the next while. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child's teacher. 
• Report Cards Viewable Feb 24 - Please be sure to access your child's report card on February 24. You'll want to download a PDF copy for your files as they are only available online for about a month after they are posted. Our next parent conferences are scheduled for March 19/20, however, if you have any questions about your child's report card, please feel free to reach out to your child's teacher in advance. 
• School Council – Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 10 at 6:00pm. We are in urgent need of parent volunteer support for our Spring Casino which brings us over $70,000. We are at risk of losing our Casino. Please email Mr. Whitton at kmwhitton@cbe.ab.ca if you can help as part of the committee or volunteer!
