Friendly Reminders & Updates
- School Council – We had our final meeting in May! Thanks to council and everyone for your support. We will be looking for new members to attend meetings, as well as volunteers for our Casino next year. Next meeting Tuesday, September 23 at 6:00pm – Please visit our School Council website page.
 - Hot Weather - We have already had our first heat warning of the season! When the temperature gets too hot, we may relocate our outdoor activities inside, or switch to the morning. Please be sure your child is dressed for warmer weather. Applying sunscreen in the morning at home can be a good idea, as can lighter clothing, hats and water bottles. Please also remember that weather can change quickly so thanks for preparing your child for this also!
 - June Transitions – Our staff appreciates that June can be a challenging time for many of our students. Our students are already looking ahead to changes in routine with summer break, longer days, or moving to new classrooms/schools next year. Some are excited for upcoming changes, and others may feel worried or anxious. Longer days can also make it difficult to keep a good sleep schedule. Our teachers recognize that many of our students benefit from a little extra time and attention, spending time to celebrate their achievements, and connecting often with their teachers and peers at this time of year. We often review expectations for safe and respectful behaviour at this time, since we know all of these factors can affect our day at school. Please let us know if your child is needing a little extra support, and thanks for helping us support a successful and positive final month!
 - Volunteer Tea RESCHEDULED TO JUNE 13 11:00am–
On Friday, June 6, we would like to invite all our volunteers to join us at 11:00am at the school for some snacks and thank you’s from our students! Paper invitations will be sent out Monday if they weren't already sent today so that you can RSVP back to let us know how many volunteers to expect for this event. If you were a volunteer and did not receive one, please let us know! We can send you another one, or you can email us to let us know you are attending. Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers this school year! - Clubs Update – Our Talent Show auditions, Games Club, Hip Hop Club and Soccer Club are all underway!
 - Diversity Cup Soccer Tournament – Gr 5/6 - We have entered two co-ed soccer teams to represent tournament at the Diversity Cup on June 14-15. If we have more interested players than spots, we will hold a draw to select players for this opportunity. Thanks teachers for offering your time for these clubs in a busy month!
 - Transportation – Bus eligible families need to register for transportation by this date to be included in the September bus routes. Late registrations can take up to 6 weeks to be added to a route.
 - Last Day of School – Please remember that Thursday June 26 is the last day of school. Our schedule is EARLY DISMISSAL at 12:10 on this day.
