Friendly Reminders & Updates

• Seven Sacred Teachings – The last of our seven sacred teachings for May/June is Truth (Turtle) 
• Friday Snacks  - Families, please remember to send a healthy snack on Fridays. There is not a recess time on Friday but classes have a scheduled nutrition break. 
• After School Supervision Reminder - Please remember that there is not staff supervision after school. Our teachers ensure that younger students are picked up at dismissal. There is no playground supervision after school, so students should be supervised by families. We recommend that students go home after school, and return to play on the playground with parent supervision at a later time. 
• Open Minds School Gr 5 (Lin) - Ms. Lin's class is excited to be attending Healthy Living Open Minds school for part of this week and next. This experience was rescheduled from its original October date. 
• Reminder - Family Fun Night and 2026-27 Kindergarten Orientation - Please save the date of Thursday May 14 for our annual Family Fun night (5:00-6:30pm) and 2026-27 Kindergarten orientation (4:30-5:00pm). Remember all students must bring a supervising adult over the age of 18 to Family Fun Night. 
• Friday May 15 - This is a professional learning day for teachers, no school for students. 
• Volunteer Appreciation Tea May 29, 11:00-11:30am. Our staff and students would like to show our appreciation for our volunteers at this time. If you volunteered, please join us for coffee, tea, and light snacks, as well as thank yous from our students!
• School Council
• • Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May  12 at 6:00pm. We are in urgent need of parent volunteer support for our Spring Casino which brings us over $70,000. We are at risk of losing our Casino. Please email Mr. Whitton at kmwhitton@cbe.ab.ca if you can help as part of the committee or volunteer!
