Friendly Reminders & Updates

  • Seven Sacred Teachings – The last of our seven sacred teachings for May/June is Truth (Turtle) 
  • School Bus Driver Appreciation Day - May 4 is School Bus Driver Appreciation Day! Thank you to our wonderful drivers who get our students safely to school each day!
  • National Day of Remembrance for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, May 5 - This is not an event that we formally recognize at school due to the age of our students, however, we feel it is an important part of our Truth and Reconciliation Commitment to bring awareness to our staff and parent community. Please see more information for parents here. Families may choose to share information about this topic with students at home if they feel it is appropriate for their age and level of understanding. 
  • Hats on For Mental Health Wednesday May 6 - May 4-8 is Mental Health Week. All of our classes will learn ways to stay healthy this week! Please feel free to wear your hat on Wednesday!
  • Reminder - Family Fun Night and 2026-27 Kindergarten Orientation - Please save the date of Thursday May 14 for our annual Family Fun night (5:00-6:30pm) and 2026-27 Kindergarten orientation (4:30-5:00pm). Look for more info coming via schoolmessenger next week. Remember all students must bring a supervising adult over the age of 18 to Family Fun Night. 
  • Volunteer Appreciation Tea May 29, 11:00-11:30am. Our staff and students would like to show our appreciation for our volunteers at this time. If you volunteered, please join us for coffee, tea, and light snacks, as well as thank yous from our students!
  • School Council
    • Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May  12 at 6:00pm. We are in urgent need of parent volunteer support for our Spring Casino which brings us over $70,000. We are at risk of losing our Casino. Please email Mr. Whitton at kmwhitton@cbe.ab.ca if you can help as part of the committee or volunteer!
