Friendly Reminders & Updates

• School Council Tuesday November 18 – This will be our Annual General Meeting, held in the Learning Commons at 6:00pm. All parents are welcome to join us.
• Fall Break November 10, 11, 12  – No school on these days.
• Remembrance Day/Indigenous Veteran’s Day Assembly Friday November 7 at 11:00 am – We will be able to host this important event. Parents are welcome to join us, however seating is limited. Thanks for your understanding that we are putting together this celebration in a very short amount of time! Thanks, teachers and students for your time and energy recognizing the important contributions of Canada’s veterans.
• Staffing Update – Please welcome Catherine Wildcat, who will be joining our staff on a temporary basis as PE specialist beginning November 14. Ms. Wildcat will be with us until at least the winter break.  We have also welcomed Meredith Spenceley to our noon supervision team. Ms. Spenceley is a permanent staff member at Cecil Swanson. Welcome!
• Individual Program Plan (IPP) Deadline Extension – If your child has an IPP, teachers will be offering meetings to discuss IPPs by November 28. This could occur in conjunction with our November conferences, if necessary. Please reach out to the office or your teacher if you have any questions.
• Parent Teacher Conferences Confirmed for Nov 27-28 – These dates have been confirmed. There will be in-person or online options. Please check your SchoolMessenger in the next week for further details and to sign up for conferences. Kindergarten families, please check your Kindergarten calendar carefully as the schedule for Kindergarten is different than Grades 1-6 on these days.
• SoundKreations Dance Residency Postponed – We are pleased to update you that this residency has been rescheduled from October to March! Thank you to our Parent Casino Society for funding this experience!
