Mr. Whitton’s Weekly Update November 17-21, 2025

Friendly Reminders & Updates

  • School Council Tuesday November 18, 6:00pm – This will be our Annual General Meeting, held in the Learning Commons at 6:00pm. All parents are welcome to join us.
  • Grade 5 Open Minds Outdoor Living School – We are wishing Ms. Fallis’ class well next week on this week-long healthy living and learning experience! This is a special opportunity that required our Grade 5 teachers to apply, and attend a summer in-service. Thank you to Ms. Lin and Fallis! Activities include visual arts, music, journaling, and fitness activities such as skating, wall climbing, and more! Thanks also to our wonderful volunteers for supporting us. This opportunity was funded by a generous grant through Education Matters so our students can attend free of charge! Ms. Lin’s Grade 5 class will attend later in the spring.
  • Lockdown Practice Nov 18 Afternoon – Calgary Police Services will be on-site supporting our lockdown practice drill. All staff, visitors, and students will be notified in advance of the drill.
  • Small Parking Lot – Please do not use this lot for student pick up/drop off. This lot has our accessible parking spaces. We have submitted a request for an additional accessible space. It is not safe to have students and parents walking through the lot for pick up/drop off. Please use our drop off zones on-street instead. Thank you!
  • Parent-Teacher Conferences Nov 27/28 – These conference dates are confirmed and families will be able to sign up online through MyCBE/Powerschool. Please check your email in coming weeks for more information.
  • Adjusted Assessment and Reporting Timelines  - This year, there will be some further adjustments to dates/timing of report cards across CBE. Your child’s report card will be viewable on February 24, 2026.
  • Winter Evening – Please mark the evening of Thursday, December 11 in your calendar for our annual winter family evening. More details will come soon on the event and festivities!
