Student Voice Club Updates
- Welcome back! Student voice will be meeting soon!
Friendly Reminders & Updates
- School Council – Our next School Council Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 23 at 6:00pm in the Learning Commons. We hope you will join us!
- Terry Fox Run – Cecil Swanson will be participating in the annual Terry Fox run on Wednesday, September 24 at 1:30pm. You are welcome to bring a donation of any amount if you would like to support the Terry Fox Foundation and cancer research. Remember to bring good running shoes, a hat, and a water bottle! Classes will practice the route on our school grounds during their PE classes.
- OurSchool Survey – Next week our Grade 4-6 students will complete the OurSchool Survey. This is a student perception survey that provides us valuable information to make Cecil Swanson School an even better place to learn! In October, our grades K-3 students will do a similar student survey created by the CBE. These surveys also inform our progress on our School Development Plan, and our work supporting student well-being.
- Orange Shirt Day – EVERY CHILD MATTERS – Cecil Swanson will be engaging in a week of learning related to Orange Shirt Day. We invite everyone to wear Orange in support of Every Child Matters on Friday, September 26. There are many community events to recognize the official National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Tuesday, September 30, which is a non-instructional (no school) day for students. You can visit the City of Calgary Orange Shirt Day website, or the Orange Shirt Society website for more information.
