Student Voice Club Updates

Friendly Reminders & Updates

School Council – Our next School Council Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 23 at 6:00pm in the Learning Commons. We hope you will join us!
Parent Information Evening Thursday September 11 – 6:00pm and 6:45pm
- Teachers will be sharing information about teaching and learning at Cecil Swanson School. Grade teams will provide a short presentation, with time for questions. Each grade team will repeat their presentation twice: at 6:00pm, and 6:45pm. This will give families with multiple students an opportunity to hear from several teachers.
- Topics will include important information about Cecil Swanson, home-school communication, curriculum updates, and more!
Recess Snacks – Our students eat their snack outside as part of their recess break. It is very helpful to pack a small snack that can be easily taken out of the lunch bag. This helps ensure that students do not eat their entire lunch at recess, and prevents lunch bags from getting lost outside. Snacks that don’t require spoons are usually the easiest, such as a granola bar, fruit, cheese or yogurt. For most students, snacks should take about 5 minutes to eat. If you have any questions about snack for your child, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher. Thanks for remembering not to bring nuts to school!
New Lunch Recess Routine – this year, students are able to move and play in any of our supervised areas at lunch recess! We have also acquired some new recess equipment carts stocked with playground equipment, balls, skipping ropes, hoops, and so on. Students have been enjoying the opportunity to meet new friends in different grades and make new connections across the school!
Breakfast Club – Our school Breakfast Club is from 7:40-7:55am. This club is funded by donations for students who need support with breakfast before school. Any regular program students who are in need of this program are welcome to drop in. Please do not arrive before 7:40am. Students in our EES and Bridges program, please speak to your child’s teacher if they require a breakfast at school.
