Cecil Swanson School

Mr. Whitton’s Weekly Update October 21 - 25, 2024

Student Voice Club Updates

  • Spirit Days – Oct 31 is Hallowe’en Dress Up Day. Reminders: Please no masks or props. Ensure your costumes are non-scary and school appropriate. Students need to either wear their costume safely all day (at lunch, recess, PE, for learning) or need to be able to put it on in the classroom, not the washroom.
  • Remember, we do not celebrate with food, or share food due to allergies and diet restrictions. Please do not send candies to hand out to the classes.
  • Next Student Voice Meeting Thursday, October 24 at lunch.
  • Check the calendar and your child’s classroom Weekly Update for more info.

Friendly Reminders & Updates

  • School Council – Our Annual General Meeting is on Tuesday October 22 at Cecil Swanson. We have moved the meeting to 6:00pm hoping more families can attend. We will name/vote on new members of our executive council at this meeting (e.g. Chair, Secretary). Please join us! Meeting minutes and Principal Reports are found on the School Council Page of our Website.
  • Home Learning Resources
  • Toys at School – We have lots of items for students to use as fidget tools, and recess/lunch equipment to play with. We do not recommend students bring personal items, toys, etc. to school as they can be a distraction, get damaged, or lost. Thank you!
