Friendly Reminders & Updates

  • No School Friday Sept 25 (PD DAY) and Wed Sept 30 (National Day for Truth and Reconciliation)
  • Seven Sacred Teachings – We are again learning about the Seven Sacred Teachings this year! Each month will have a different teaching to focus on. The teaching for September is Respect - Buffalo
  • Winter Clothing Support - Is your child in need of winter clothing? The school can support providing donated winter clothing through the Jacket Racket Community Closet. If you are in need of support with winter clothing please complete the form below. The school does not share your name or personal information with the Jacket Racket, but we support distributing the clothing to you.
  • Staffing Updates - Grade 5 Team
    • Please join me in welcoming Sherry Bellegarde-Cooke to our Grade 5 teaching team! Ms. Bellegarde is an experienced educator, and is looking forward to joining our Grade 5 team full-time beginning September 28! She will be with us for the year while Ms. Fallis is on her maternity leave.
  • School Council
    • Our next school council/parent society meeting is Monday October 26 21, 2026 at 6:00pm in the Learning Commons.
    • This will be our Annual General Meeting - we are in need of new parents to support the roles of Treasurer, Council Chair, and Secretary, as these roles are or may soon become vacant. Please come and support council in any way you can!

  • National Day for Truth and Reconciliation/Orange Shirt Day
    • Please remember to wear Orange on Thursday, September 29. The orange shirt has become a symbol of hope, reconciliation, and commitment to a better future. By wearing an orange shirt on September 30th, you make a statement to support truth & reconciliation and commit to the enduring truth that
      “EVERY CHILD MATTERS”
    • Cecil Swanson will be updating our School Commitment to Truth and Reconciliation, and sharing this commitment on Orange Shirt Day. Staff and students will be engaging in a number of learning activities related to Truth and Reconciliation.
  • Terry Fox Run - Friday Oct 2 at 11:00am
    • Please dress for the weather, have a water bottle and good shoes!
    • We will be collecting "Twoonies for Terry" any day next week - any small coin donation is welcome. All proceeds go to the Terry Fox foundation in support of cancer research.
